The Porcelain Street is modeled on the ancient architecture of the Ming and Qing Dynasties to depict is the Huxiang culture, the ceramic culture, and folk customs. It vividly restores the market life scenes of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and conveys the ancient civilization. Past wonderful projects such as ancient buildings, Hunan Government-Sponsored Ceramics Academy, the Mobius Strip of Hunan Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, theme hotels, brand specialties, and creative markets reappear in the street. Experiential and contextualized representation is provided to meet the seven major needs of “eating, accommodating, traveling, sightseeing, shopping, entertaining, and learning”. This is an ultimate cultural and travel brand and it marks the first stop in the trip in Liling.

Wu Xiangdong, chairman of Jindong Group, said that the defining characteristic of the Porcelain Culture Street is time-travel, from the commercial civilization of thousands of years to modern civilization, and its greatest artistic features are the ancient architecture of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the ancient and modern ceramic cultures, the collision of many different cultures, and the cluster of strong culture IPs. Wu Xiangdong hoped that the Porcelain Street would preserve the long history and culture of China forever. It is intended not only to protect traditional ancient architecture works, but also to enable more people to learn about them. He was confident that he could build the Porcelain Street and the entire Liling Ceramics Valley into beautiful business cards for the all-for-one tourism of Liling and even for Hunan.
