Highlights Attract Attention at the Lidu Jar Sealing Culture Festival
2018-09-17
From September 12 to 16, the “Seminar on the Self-confidence of Chinese Liquor Culture and the 5th Lidu National Treasure Jar Sealing Culture Festival” was held in Lidu Town, Jinxian County, Nanchang. Liquor experts, senior liquor collectors and fans of Lidu liquor from all over the country gathered at Lidu distillery. They visited the distillery ruins originating from the Yuan Dynasty, felt the rich history of Lidu as a national treasure liquor brand, immersed themselves in the liquor culture, and gained deeper understanding of the value and affections of aged liquor.
This jar sealing cultural festival included seven sections: training of national-level liquor tasters, expansion of 1,000-ton special-type basic liquor and production of grain in new cellars, sealing of a 500kg jar, high-end aged liquor exchange conference in the South, scholarship donation amounted to RMB 100,000, handover of Lidu brewing process as intangible cultural heritage and mentoring ceremony, and the night of national treasure and the voice of national quintessence - tour cross-talking performance by Li Jindou and Fang Qingping.
As an important part of the activities during the jar sealing cultural festival, a cellar opening ceremony for expansion of 1,000t special-type basic liquor production was officially launched at 9:38 am on September 15. After the “Lidu Gaoliang 1955” won the Grand Gold Medal of the Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (Guiyang) in 2015, Lidu increased the price of this award-winning product several times in a year in order to limit purchases so that it could ensure the gold quality of this product. However, supply still fell short of demand in the market, and out-of-stocks occurred frequently.
Later, in order to constrain the blind expansion of the company, Jindong Group granted a production and sales quota of 4,600 bottles per year. As a result, consumers were still crazy about “Lidu Gaoliang 1955”, and the short supply remained fundamentally unsolved.
In order to allow more consumers to enjoy good liquor products at affordable prices, Lidu decided to expand its production scale under the consent of Wu Xiangdong, the chairman of Jindong Group, this September. By making rational use of its existing cellar resources, Lidu planned to expand a 1,000-ton special-type basic liquor base. It would moderately increase the production of “Lidu Gaoliang 1955” and other high-end products in the same series in an orderly manner to ease the supply and demand conflict in the market.
In addition, from “25kg jar sealing”, “30kg and 60-degree liquor jar sealing”, “whole cell sealing” and this “50kg jar sealing”, Lidu jar sealing cultural festival never changes its “content” in spite of rising prices ---- it’s always 60° original pure liquor fermented for 3 months. As a highlight of this cultural festival, the new “50kg jar” created a new benchmark for the jar sealed liquor products in Jiangxi.
